Long run...

I think that my Ipod Touch is going to be the death of me, or at least the end to my sleep schedule. Just when I think that I have found all that I need, I discover something new that I must have on my ipod and there goes another hour of precious sleep time. So after sleeping a nice amount over the weekend I figured Sunday I would wake up with lots of energy and be ready for 12km outside in the cold but sunny weather. Lo and behold, I woke up Sunday morning exhausted and ran my 12k on the treadmill at the gym, which turned out to be better than getting caught in the rain outside, had I been out there. I think that there needs to be an hour, like stopping to eat a certain amount of time before going to sleep, that I say, enough with the ipod, its time to get some rest. I think that hour will be 10pm. Tonight will be the first night that I try it. I will let you know how it goes.

So Sunday's run was 12km. It was not the first time that I have run that distance but its been a while. It was not easy, but its over with and will be done again next week, hopefully outside. I don't think that I ate enough yesterday so that I could run the 4-5k that I needed to run today. I was hoping that I would be able to run closer to the 5k than the 4 but I opted for the 4 when I dragged myself out of bed this morning, again because I was reading a book I downloaded to my ipod, late into the night. After today's run I did a full body workout with a bit of balance training AND got to go into work late! I tried to see what Mamilla had to offer in terms of some new boots and maybe some khakis, but all I came out with was one less glove :( I did buy a new chip for Nike+ so that I can finally know what distance I am running when I'm outside. Hopefully it will give me that extra push to run on the street instead of the treadmill. I think that a dog would probably be a better bet...

Tomorrow is cross training and some more leg work and balance training. A strong core = a strong stride :)

I can't wait for Wednesday, 3 massages!
